São Paulo / Pforzheim, February 1, 2026 – Hydrogen Dialogue Latin America Brazil Edition, a central platform for the hydrogen economy in Latin America, will be closely integrated with The smarter E South America in future. Starting with the next edition, the event will be embedded as an official side event in the trade fair and congress ecosystem of The smarter E South America.
With this step, the initiators are combining the strengths of the established Hydrogen Dialogue with the growing influence of The smarter E South America, the largest exhibition alliance for renewable energies in LATAM. The cooperation creates a compelling stage for innovation, knowledge transfer and networking along the entire hydrogen value chain – from production and storage to applications in mobility and industry.
The integration of Hydrogen Dialogue Latin America Brazil Edition into The smarter E South America opens up new perspectives:
The valued contribution of our Partners and Associations will play a pivotal role in shaping a central platform for the emerging hydrogen economy in Latin America. Their expertise, regional networks, and strategic insights will ensure that the platform becomes a hub for collaboration, innovation, and market development across the continent.
Rodrigo Sauaia, CEO of the Brazilian Solar Photovoltaic Energy Association (ABSOLAR), emphasizes Brazil’s competitive advantages in green hydrogen production and the strategic role of solar energy in driving the country’s energy transition: “Brazil has unique conditions to become a leading global player in green hydrogen production, particularly through photovoltaic solar energy. The country benefits from one of the best solar resources in the world–clean, abundant, and increasingly competitive–enabling large-scale production at attractive costs. Green hydrogen from solar energy represents a strategic opportunity to decarbonize energy-intensive sectors such as heavy industry, transportation, and fertilizer production, while strengthening energy security and generating new investments and green jobs.”
Fernanda Delgado, CEO of the Associação Brasileira da Indústria do Hidrogênio Verde (ABIHV), highlights Brazil’s strong project pipeline and the sector’s shift toward implementation: “Brazil has unique conditions to lead green hydrogen. ABIHV’s pipeline shows over BRL 53 billion in projects with FID from 2026, largely in the Northeast. Globally, the sector is shifting to execution: projects with firm demand, clear rules and bankable financing move forward. Platforms that connect market, industry and public policy help turn potential into projects.”
‘The integration of Hydrogen Dialogue Latin America Brazil Edition into The smarter E South America is a significant step towards bringing the hydrogen economy in Brazil and throughout Latin America to a larger stage,’ says Dr Florian Wessendorf, Managing Director of Solar Promotion GmbH. ‘We are creating greater visibility, stronger networks and closer connections between the key markets of the new energy world.’
Hydrogen Dialogue Latin America Brazil Edition adds an important hydrogen component, further strengthening the exhibition and conference's focus on cross-sector energy solutions.
“Accelerating Integrated Energy Solutions” – this is the goal of The smarter E South America, LATAM’s largest alliance of events for the energy industry. The aim is to create a future-oriented energy world by shining a spotlight on renewable energies, decentralization and digitalization as well as cross-industry solutions from the electricity, heat and transport sectors for a sustainable 24/7 energy supply.
Spanning four exhibitions, The smarter E South America brings together international stakeholders from across the world’s most influential markets, showcasing the latest market developments, trends, and technologies. The exhibitions, along with concurrently held conferences, will take place at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, Brazil, on August 25–27, 2026.
