Mr Shirish Garud, Senior Fellow, TERI, having more than two decades of experience in renewable energy sector, is a well-known specialist in renewable energy technologies (solar, wind), energy planning and renewable energy policy studies.
He has rich experience in solar and wind resource assessment, technology development, and deployment, policy and regulatory studies.
His current research areas include solar drying, hydrogen and fuel cell for RE management, integration of solar rooftop systems to facilitate grid operations, web portal design for Renewable Purchase Obligation monitoring and regulatory aspects of large scale grid integration.
He has been on experts panels on National Television Channel and important forums. He is also member of Technical Committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for solar thermal. He was instrumental in commercializing soalr selective coating technology developed by National Aeronautical Laboratories, Bangalore.
He led a multi-activity flagship project on Integrated Energy Management Master Plan for Bhutan which was a cornerstone project for the Government of Bhutan. He was also co-editor of The Royal Government of Bhutans first official Energy Data Directory 2005 and Integrated Energy Management Master Plan for Bhutan.
He is a passionate clean energy expert and loves being with nature, trekking and travelling.
