India has embarked on of the world's largest renewable energy capacity expansion program. The ambitious target is to achieve an installed capacity of renewable based power of 175 GW by the year 2022, with 100 GW of solar. We are further aiming to more than double these targets to 450 GW. We envisage investment of around USD 250 billion would be required for the period 2023-2030. State governments in India are working on the mandate to increase the use of Renewable Energy in India's energy mix, with a large focus on solar energy and are commissioning mid and large-scale projects for the same. The session will hear from senior energy officials of the central and state governments regarding their initiatives to boost investments in the sector including policies and incentives, success stories and upcoming opportunities. Invest India, the national investment promotion and facilitation agency of India, will moderate the session and also introduce India Investment Grid, an interactive platform developed by Government of India to showcase pan-India investment opportunities to potential global investors.
