Matthias Vetter is the head of the Electrical Energy Storage Department at Fraunhofer ISE. Matthias is working in applied research and development, including demonstration projects, and has a passion for demonstrating operational reliability of new technologies within field projects.

Some of his projects that have contributed to the topic of sustainable cities are the Smart Green Tower in Freiburg, smart districts with high solar shares and battery storage, smart sector coupling with a light-rail system, smart integration of battery-based charging infrastructure for e-mobility or the electrification of ferries
