Summary

The LCOE of PV systems hinge on the 25 years life. To safely operate and generate the energy over this period maintaining high safety and quality standards is important. Lack of due diligence in component and vendor selection, compromises in design, installation and commissioning, poor operation, maintenance and safety practices can all have serious outcomes: destruction of the assets, faster degradation, lower generation, violation of local laws, serious injuries to personnel etc. Rising extreme weather incidents and higher system voltages and other technology upgrades add new dimensions to the risks. Uncompromising quality and safety is the only way to ensure RoI, sustain the confidence of all stakeholders and ensure that investment in billions continues and the society at large benefits. In this session, experts from EPC, standards and certifying agencies, policy makers and others will share their perspectives on this critical subject.
